βSee the reef without getting wet. Islamorada's glass bottom boat, day or night.β
Transparensea runs the glass bottom boat tours in Islamorada, leaving from the World Wide Sportsman marina (the big Bass Pro Shops) at mile marker 81.5, bayside. It's a 46-foot boat with 16 underwater viewing windows, so you watch the reef go by under your feet while staying dry. No snorkel, no wetsuit, no swimming test.
The boat is certified for 49 but they cap it around 30, so everyone actually gets a window. There's full shade, a restroom on board, and a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer that cuts the rolling way down. If you or the kids get queasy on boats, read up on the Seakeeper-stabilized glass bottom boat before you write the trip off.
All three trips run about two hours.
Prices are current as of October 2026. You can check live availability and book a tour right on this page.
Most reef trips in the Florida Keys assume you're getting in the water. This one doesn't, which makes it the easy pick for mixed groups: the toddler, the grandparent, the friend who won't snorkel. If you're torn, their breakdown of glass bottom boat vs. snorkeling is honest about who each one suits.
If you're staying farther up and searching for Key Largo boat tours, Islamorada is about half an hour south, and an easy add-on to a Key Largo stay.
Park at World Wide Sportsman and head to the bayside marina out back. Full directions to the boat are on their site. Make a day of it: Robbie's of Islamorada for tarpon feeding is a few miles south, and Anne's Beach is a good swim after a morning tour.
They'll move you to a different trip before they cancel when the weather turns, so call ahead if the wind is up.
Check live availability and book Transparensea Glass Bottom Boat Tours right here. Booking runs through FareHarbor, the same system the operator uses on its own site.

Book the night tour at least once. The underwater lights pull in moray eels, octopus and lobster you'll never see on a daytime trip, and it's the only night glass bottom boat tour we know of in the Keys.
